Fred is survived by his wife and two children, Cathy Snoddy of Westerville, OH and Bill Snoddy of Hilton Head, SC. Fred was employed by Dolin/Msc. Industries as a sales representative. Fred grew up on 10th Street West in Huntington, attended Monroe Elementary, West Junior High School and HHS. Many of us who grew up with Fred can remember those days when Huntington's West End was a really close-knit community.  Fred lived next door to classmate Bill Bartley and within just a few houses from Steve Evendoll, Helen Bowyer Mack, Barbra Charles Haptonstall, Mendell Ray, and Linda Bauserman McClellan just to name a few. We also remember getting together with Fred once a week when members of Cub Scout Pack 13 would meet in the Bartley garage (under the watchful eyes of our Den Mother, Grace Bartely (Bill's mother) and our Scoutmaster, Bill Charles (Barbra's father.)

The following obituary appeared in the March 19, 2016 edition of The Hunington Herald-Dispatch:

He was known for his ability to make a stranger smile with his quick humor and infectious laugh. He prided himself in being a husband, father, and friend. Nothing was more important than his love of God and his family. He was a retired industrial sales representative with Dolin Supply Company/MSC where he excelled at his job, winning outstanding sales awards. He was preceded in death by his father Fred Snoddy, and his mother Lucille Snoddy. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sharon; his son Bill (Celi Stuart) of Huntington; his daughter Cathy of Huntington; his sister Shirley Freeman of Omaha, Neb.; two nieces, Melissa Freeman of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Laura Dunn (Steve) of Omaha, Neb.; and countless special friends who were part of his extended family. Services will be held Monday, March 21 at Beard Mortuary at 1 p.m. with Rev. Trent Eastman officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at Beard Mortuary. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Fred's honor be made to the Hospice of your choice.

The stars sparkle a little brighter today with the love and laughter that Fred brings to heaven.
