Obituary for Larry Gene Salyers

Larry G. Salyers, 77, of Huntington, widower of Sandra Sue Salyers, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2018 in Heartland of Riverview, South Point, OH. Funeral services will be conducted 12:30 pm Sunday, December 30, 2018, at Chapman's Mortuary, with Pastor Jim Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Larry was born January 26, 1941, in Huntington, WV, a son of the late Edward J. and Nancy Skaggs Salyers. Four brothers, Billy, Charles, James and Don Salyers also preceded him in death. He retired as the Director of Tri-State Airport, and was a member of the Beverly Hills United Methodist Church. He was also a longtime coach of youth sports. Survivors include one daughter, Rebecca Lego of Huntington; three sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Laurie Salyers of Richmond, VA, David and Joey Salyers of Proctorville, OH, Brian and Teresa Salyers of Charlotte, NC; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth Salyers, Zach Lego (Kelley), Jordan Salyers, Eric Salyers (Brianna), Evan Salyers (Carly), Cara Salyers, Ally Salyers, Faith Salyers and Brennen West; two great-grandchildren, Cooper Lego and Hadley Lego. Friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the funeral home.
