Alan Hutchinson

ALLAN PARKER HUTCHISON, age 82, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 17, 2023. Allan was born on May 5, 1941, the son of the late R. Lake and Francis Hutchison. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Jeff Hutchison. He is survived by his loving wife Donna Henry Hutchinson, son Marc Allan (Dr. Stephanie) Hutchison, daughter Myra Lynn (Paul) Bruce, sister Janet Pieta, grandchildren Cameron Allan Hutchison (Alexis), Caitlyn Hutchison, bonus grandchildren Annika Bruce, Alec Bruce, great-grandson Declan Parker Hutchison, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and Margaret McLaughlin (who was like a daughter to him). He served our country in the Navy and was stationed on the USS Independence CVA-162. Allan worked for 35 years at INCO in Huntington. Through his work as a former Vice President of the West Virginia AFL-CIO, member of the United Steelworkers Local 40, and member of the American Legion in Ceredo, he advocated for his fellow union members and veterans. He was a faithful member of River Cities Community Church and was known by everyone as a man of great integrity who loved his family and quietly served others through his gifts of service including his passion for cooking. Many people were the recipients of his culinary skills. A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, Ohio from 12:30 to 2 p.m. The funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery in Huntington, W.Va. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to River Cities Community Church or First Baptist Church of South Point.
