Gordon Cole

Robert Gordon Cole, 77, of Huntington, WV passed away Thursday, August 29, 2019 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, WV. He was born September 13, 1941, in Huntington, W.Va., to the late Charles Emmit Cole and Grace Ann Pendleton.  He proudly served in the US Navy, retired from General Electric and the United States Postal Service.  He also volunteered at the Huntington VA Medical Center.  He is survived by his loving wife,  Helen Cole; six children and step children, Shawn Cole of Barboursville, W.Va.,  Tracy (Tabatha) Spears of Houston, Texas, Terry (Paula) Spears of Huntington, W.Va., Robert (Shanda) Cole of Kenova, W.Va., Jason Townson of Huntington, W.Va., and Rob (Laura) Townson of Prichard, W.Va.; nineteen grandchildren and step grandchildren, Allison, Hannah, Joey, Sophie, David, Aiden, Andrew, Gracie, Maddie, Chris, Mackenzie, Jason, Braxton, Aaron, Jay, DeLinda, Gage, Tracy and River; one sibling, Vernon (Pat) Cole; and a host of family and friends.  Gordon enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends but he especially loved going to events involving his grandchildren.  He had a great sense of humor and loved Marshall football.  Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday September 3, 2019 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, Ohio.
